Sinopsis del Libro

Trabajo de Investigación del año 2003 en eltema Romanística - Español, literatura, cultura general, Nota: 10, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria , Idioma: Español, Resumen: Al abordar el estudio de El mestizaje cultural en la narrativa canaria última nos planteamos realizar un trabajo inicial en el campo de la investigación, con el fin de llevar a cabo un análisis del fenómeno literario en las Islas Canarias a través de uno de los aspectos más relevantes de la fisonomía socioeconómica y cultural de este Archipiélago. Para hablar del mestizaje es necesario tener presente los flujos migratorios acontecidos en las distintas etapas de la historia insular, observando los motivos que hicieron posible este hecho. Es nuestro propósito analizar la influencia que ejercen estos elementos en nuestra cultura a través del estudio de cuatro ejemplos de la narrativa canaria del último tercio del siglo XX: El árbol del bien y del mal (1985), de J. J. Armas Marcelo; El llano amarillo (1985), de Emilio González Déniz; El inglés (1991), de Juan-Manuel García Ramos; y, El año de la seca (1997), de Víctor Álamo de la Rosa. Nuestro interés a la hora de acometer el análisis del tema que da título a este trabajo se basa, principalmente, en el hecho de ahondar en el estudio de la literatura canaria desde la década de los setenta hasta finales de siglo XX, con el fin de adquirir mayor conciencia de la influencia que sobre los autores ejerce el mestizaje, al tiempo que ampliamos la concepción cultural y sociológica que poseemos acerca de ese proceso de mezcla cultural que se da en las Islas, como consecuencia de diferentes circunstancias socio-históricas que derivaron en sucesivos movimientos migratorios surgidos a lo largo de las distintas etapas de la historia insular.
