Aunque soy famoso gracias a mis cuadros, he de decir que parte de mi celebridad la debo al hecho de haber conocido a muchas personas interesantes y de haber vivido muchsimos aos, en una poca -buena parte del siglo XX- que ha sido una de las ms prolficas desde el punto de vista cultural.
