La historia del Municipio en Chile desde 1830 –cuando fueron abolidos no solo el Cabildo colonial sino también lo que había sido hasta entonces la soberanía comunal de “los pueblos”– hasta el año 2016. Es un libro que todos debiéramos leer, por el desconocimiento que los chilenos tenemos sobre cómo se ha tejido y se teje esta parte importantísima de nuestra historia.

Desde el decreto de expulsión en 1767 hasta nuestros días, los jesuitas reunieron numerosas explotaciones. La administración de dichos bienes y la enajenación de los mismos generaron el ramo de Bienes de Temporalidades que requirió atención administrativa, un equipo de personas a su cuidado, un presupuesto y espacios donde conservar el voluminoso archivo, que estuvo a punto de desaparecer para ahorrarse los gastos de custodia y conservación.
