A finales del siglo XVIII un ilustrado de Carmona escribía que le había resultado muy difícil disponer de la obra Antigüedades y excelencias de la Villa de Carmona y compendio de historias para su lectura. Finalmente en 1778 se la facilitó el presbítero Don Nicolás de Lara. En la red se dispone de, al menos, tres ejemplares con origen diverso: Biblioteca Nacional, procedente de la Librería de don Pascual Gayangos; Biblioteca universitaria de Madrid, procedente de la Librería del Campo de Alange; y Real Biblioteca de Corte Imperial Viena (Kaiserliche koenigliche hofbibliotek wien)....
