Las primeras traducciones europeas del Quijote del profesor Germán Colón es una versión traducida y corregida por el mismo autor de su libro ya clásico Die ersten romanischen und germanischen Ueberstzungen des Don Quijote [Bern: Francke, 1974]. Con un análisis inteligente y profundo, se comparan y contrastan distintas traducciones a diversas lenguas románicas y germánicas de la obra de Cervantes realizadas en el siglo XVII.
